Awaueck (AHH-wuh-WECK) is a boss from the game Ristar.

Background

When Awaueck first appears, he is seen attacking a brown bird during his song. This is the same brown bird found in the Sound Test settings.

Involvement

Awaueck is a bird, but unlike most other birds, he cannot sing very well. In fact, his singing is so bad, his music notes fall to the ground and cause the background to shimmer. Given he seems to hate the positive singing and forcefully attacks the brown bird, he may be responsible for the disruption in Sonata so he could egoticially sing his tone deaf music. He doesn't appear in end credits to show any sign of redemption, but he does resemble the other birds of the first act who were upset about missing their metronome.

Strategy

Awaueck must first be knocked off of the podium by knocking into him three times. Once knocked off, Awaueck will attack by divebombing, falling down, and dropping big, white feathers toward Ristar. The music notes he sings can cause damage, and to add to the difficulty, every time Ristar hits the ground to try to knock him down, parts of the ceiling will drop down and can cause damage as well. Ceiling bits also drop after Awaueck divebombs. The ceiling bits can often cause death, which is why it is important to try to notice them and avoid them as soon as possible. Once attacked twice, Awaueck will bump the brown bird off the stage and will begin singing again. Six hits is enough to finish this boss.
